East Citrus & West Citrus Soccer Clubs Merge

As of August 1, 2007; East Citrus Soccer Club in Inverness and West Citrus Soccer Club in Homosassa merged to form the Citrus United Soccer. 

The same faces you see working the concession stand, lining the field, and helping as field marshals will not change. Also, nothing will change when in comes to soccer schedules.  Kids who register with Citrus United will still decide if they want to play their games in Homosassa or Inverness. 

Why the change?  The merger allows both clubs to expand their soccer programs.  The merger brings more clarity and focus to the competitive teams.  It also allows both clubs to save some money when ordering necessities like field paint, uniforms, etc.

You may ask, "What are some of the benefits?"

• TOPS Soccer - East Citrus Soccer offers a popular TOPS Program.  TOPS Soccer is an outreach program of US Youth Soccer that offers the soccer experience to kids with physical and developmental disabilities. West Citrus will be able to register kids to East Citrus' TOPS Program. 

• Provide Citrus county will the best soccer program in the area.

  • 14 week soccer season (starting the first week of November and ending in mid February)

  • Teams ranging from U5 to U19 (recreational)

  • All Girls teams for most age groups

  • Summer soccer camps

  • Coaches clinics for all levels of coaching experience

  • Trainer available every other week to teach kids soccer skills.  Open to who ever wants to attend. East Citrus started this program.  West Citrus and East Citrus will alternate weeks and provide a trainer throughout the season to teach kids and coaches new drills, skills, and games.

  • Recreational All Star Teams which compete in the Americas Cup.  Now our All Star teams can  bring together the best of East Citrus and West Citrus!

  • Sunshine Cup (C6) soccer tournament

• Premier Competitive Soccer Program

  • Teams range from U11-U19

  • All Girls competitive teams

  • Teams compete in Regions Cup

  • Most teams compete in competitive tournaments year round.  These teams play the premier competitive teams from Ocala, Tampa, Sarasota, Orlando, Miami and every where in-between and beyond!  All competitive play in at least 3 competitive tournaments each year.

  • Each team has a pool of certified and knowledgeable team trainers to help each player develop their own skills.

• Sponsors - Sponsors can now reach the entire county! 

  • Advertise in our single program and reach almost 2,000 families from Sugar Mill Woods, Homosassa, Weeki Wachi, Crystal River, Inverness, Beverly Hills, Lecanto, and Citrus Springs!
